This program might be for you if you are any kind of professional who supports or works closely with other humans,

This program might not be for you if:
You’re looking for training in a methodology for processing or ‘healing’ trauma. There are plenty of courses out there for people working more directly with humans who are looking to heal or process their trauma. In the early stages of this Trauma-Informed Professional Development Training we will explore the basics around understanding what trauma is and how it sometimes impacts us, along with offering tools to help you and your clients explore safety, stabilization and accessing their/our resources, however, we won’t be going into the deeper work of trauma processing (as this program is open to all helping professionals, many of whom will never need to enter into that work - if you do work in this way and need further training, we encourage you to look for additional training).
You are looking for quick fixes or simple solutions to trauma. We will, however, be exploring the complexities of what it means to live and work with trauma, and the complexities of our being human, both as professionals and as clients.
You want to become an ‘expert’ in trauma. We here at Trauma & Co. do not claim to be experts, nor do we have expertise in all areas of trauma or being human. While we do have experience and knowledge that we are offering in this program, we are also very much in the learning around trauma and the complex intersections with being human, alongside you. And so we encourage you to look at this training program as a part of that learning - after which you will hopefully continue on in your learning, just as we will (because there are always deeper layers of learning to be found when it comes to living and working with trauma).
You do not want to explore oppression and how we all sometimes cause harm, and you do not feel you are able to be challenged or to safely be with your discomfort. Some of this work during our time together in the Trauma-Informed Professionals Training might be challenging. We will be exploring areas of oppression and harm, including how we as professionals sometimes perpetuate harm and what it means to continue to show up for ourselves and for our clients in continued learning. Sometimes this work will not be easy, and we are here for the learning and exploration right alongside you.
You are looking for perfection. This training course is not about creating ‘perfect’ professionals. We are here to work with you in all your complexities and in your learning - some of which might be messy and imperfect.
