Sexual Abuse, Australia

Domestic Abuse, Australia

Blue Knot Foundation“Blue Knot Foundation, formerly Adults Surviving Child Abuse (ASCA), is the leading national organisation working to improve the lives of 1 in 4 adult Australians (5 million) who have experienced childhood trauma. This includes people who have experienced child abuse in all its forms, neglect, domestic violence in childhood and other adverse childhood events. This is known as complex trauma.”

Brave Hearts“Bravehearts’ Sexual Assault Disclosure Scheme (SADS) has been established to support adult survivors in their disclosures to police. Bravehearts understands that many victims need the belief and/or validation of others to gain the strength to disclose and to heal. Through SADS, survivors of child sexual assault are provided with an official, non-threatening means to disclose their experiences to the police. SADS provides a reporting avenue that does not require a detailed statement, or direct police contact, until such time as the survivor is ready to proceed. The choice to proceed will always remain with the participant.”

Elder Abuse Prevention Service“The Elder Abuse Prevention Unit (EAPU) promotes the right of older people to live free from abuse.”

Angel Hands“Dr Ann O’Neill founded Angel Hands over ten years ago as a way of effecting helpful changes to how people affected by homicide and serious personal violence experience their trauma recovery.”

Hurt Project“HURT is an interactive website that is designed to raise awareness about the hidden devastation and family turmoil of domestic and family violence and sexual assault, confronting the shame and investigating the issues from the incomparable perspective of those involved.”

Child Wise“The Child Wise National Child Abuse Helpline is a toll-free  number providing Australians with access to expert advice from trained counsellors and an opportunity to speak up about child abuse. ”

Brave Hearts“Our Vision is to prevent child sexual assault in our society. Our Mission is to make Australia the safest place in the world to raise a child.”

NAPCAN“NAPCAN’s strategy is to support and encourage changes in individual and community behaviour to stop child abuse and neglect before it starts.”
